Article causes delight, another brings dismay [Letter]

My husband Lloyd and I have been experiencing such a sense of gratitude to Jim Rouse for our opportunity to live yet another beautiful summer in his newtown of Columbia.  We have been spending a lot of time up at our lovely lakefront having meals and listening to music.  The Columbia Association and Clyde's have been doing such a great job.  Looking across the lake to see so many walkers using the new pathway is nothing less than a joy.

On returning this weekend from our annual week at the beach with our kids and grandkids, two articles in last Thursday's edition caught my attention.

First, the article on teen musicians at the lakefront stage — we have been so happy to see good crowds in attendance every time we have been there.

Second, "Merriweather Post Pavilion ... two concertgoers died and 19 others were sent to hospitals during an electronic music festival."  This is a tragedy that calls for immediate urgent attention by the management of the pavilion and county government.
