CA board to meet, expected to set hearings on HOA exemption bill

The Columbia Association board will meet tThursday at 7:30 p.m. inside CA headquarters, located at 10221 Wincopin Circle. Below is a preview of Thursday's agenda.

  • Easement request for Kindler Road water main: The CA board will consider approving an easement request of $440 from Howard County's Department of Public Works regarding the construction of a 3,000-foot water main on Kindler Road from First League to Woodstream Way.
  • Easement for multi-use pathway: The board will receive a presentation on the potential aspects of an easement from Howard County to CA regarding the construction of a mutli-use pathway from Blandiar Park to Howard County General Hospital
  • HOA Legislation Communications timeline: The board will have the fourth reading on the communications process for potential legislation that would exempt CA from the Maryland Homeowners Association Act. It is anticipated dates will be set for public hearings and work sessions on the draft bill, which reclassifies CA as a non-profit community service organization.
  • Engagement Plan for Columbia businesses: The board will discuss the preliminary plan that aims to increase engagement with Columbia businesses.
