Police seek help in Columbia 7-Eleven robbery

The Howard County Police Department is offering up to $500 for information regarding a robbery at a Columbia convenience store last week.

Police said that at approximately 2:35 a.m. Friday, May 31, a man entered a 7-Eleven in the 5700 block of Columbia Road, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a black mask covering his face. The man was carrying a handgun, police said.

According to police, the man approached an employee, handed him a bag and ordered the employee to empty the registers. The victim complied, according to police. Police said another employee was also confronted by the suspect, who then fled.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 410-313-STOP. Callers can remain anonymous. Anonymous tips can also be given through the free smart phone app "iWatchHowardCounty."
