The Columbia Association is offering assistance to furloughed government employees by reducing costs this month, according to CA's blog, CA Today.
CA will reduce fees to $25 for dues being withdrawn Oct. 18, according to the blog. Requests must be received by CA on or before Oct. 11. Should the government shutdown continue, CA said it will re-evaluate for the November and December payments.
For participants in the School Age Services program, CA is waiving the two-week withdrawal notice and the re-enrollment fee and will hold spaces open for the children of furloughed employees. CA said requests will be made effective on the date they are received.
CA asks those who are interested to submit official documentation of furlough status and a written request in person, via email to Dale.Wasmus@ColumbiaAssociation.org or by mail to Columbia Association, 10221 Wincopin Circle, Columbia MD 20144.
