Improvements along the Broken Land Parkway Trail in Columbia will start on or about Monday, June 17, Howard County officials said Friday.
The construction project will "improve pedestrian connectivity and safety" along the trail, near Snowden River Parkway, officials said.
The county's department of public works will install about 3,000 feet of an eight-foot-wide asphalt path. Pedestrian signals and two bus shelters also will be installed.
Occasional, brief lane shifts are expected along the parkway during the construction, which is expected to be completed by late September.
