A Columbia teen arrested for robbing a man at gunpoint outside of the Mall in Columbia earlier this month was indicted by a Howard County Grand Jury on Tuesday.
Jerron Marquise Berry, 19, of the 5900 block of Grand Bank Street, was indicted on charges of armed robbery, robbery, theft and first-degree assault.
Berry, who is awaiting sentencing after entering Alford pleas to two counts of armed robbery, is being held at Howard County Detention Center on $350,000 bond, according to the indictment.
According to police, a man was walking to his car in the AMC Theaters parking lot at about 8 p.m. on Nov. 2, when three men approached him from behind.
The three men began talking to the victim about buying drugs, according to the charging documents, when one of the men pulled out a semi-automatic hand gun and said, "Give me your money, you know what this is."
Police said the victim gave the men his wallet, which contained two Social Security cards, a driver's license and a $20 bill, and watched them enter a black Volkswagen and drive away. The victim then got into his car, and followed the three men to Green Mountain Circle before calling 911.
Officers stopped a car matching the description provided by the victim at Gloucester and Green Dory.
The victim was able to identify Berry, along with Wade Thomas Jones, 18, of the 10900 block of Old Woods Way, and Kenneth Calhoun Smith, 18, of the 12000 block of Little Patuxent Street, as the three men who approached him in the parking lot, according to the charging documents.
Both Jones and Smith, who have not yet been indicted, were arrested on charges of armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, theft and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Berry is scheduled to next appear in court on Dec. 20.
