A Florida-based family sports restaurant serving traditional pub food is actively looking to open a new restaurant in Columbia as the company expands into Maryland.
Beef 'O' Brady's is looking to open as many as 10 locations in Maryland, and the company has identified Columbia as a specific site for expansion.
Chief Development Officer James Walker said the restaurant focuses on three things; family, value and sports.
"We know the market real well. You have die-hard sports fans and a lot of families who live in Maryland, it's a great market for us, and Columbia is ground zero," Walker said.
Walker said Beef 'O' Brady's combines a family-oriented, sports-themed atmosphere with quality and value, setting it apart from other chain restaurants.
Walker said the company is in the process of interviewing franchisees, and hopes that they can approve a candidate and begin the 6- to 9-month development and construction process by January.
Beef 'O' Brady's is looking to open a facility ranging from 3,600 to 4,200 sq. feet, which Walker said could have an outdoor patio.
If all goes according to plan, Walker said a new restaurant could open as early as the summer of 2013.
Beef 'O' Brady's currently has 210 locations open in 22 states, most of which are concentrated in the southeastern United States, Walker said.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
