An SUV slammed into a police cruiser in Columbia late Saturday, sending six people to area hospitals including three children, Howard County police said.
Johnnie Morris Williams Sr., 35, of Baltimore was driving north along the 5600 block of Waterloo Road just before midnight Saturday when police said the Ford Expedition he was driving crossed the center line and hit a marked police car traveling in the southbound lane. The crash caused the Expedition leave the roadway and overturn, police said.
Williams and his four passengers — including three children between the ages of 7 and 17 — were taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Police said their injuries were not life threatening. The police officer driving the cruiser, three-year veteran Sara Dorsey was also hurt and taken to Howard County General Hospital. Police said her injuries were not life threatening.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
