Michael Slayton spread out seven base hits across seven innings of work to lead Atholton, still undefeated in league play, past Marriotts Ridge, 2-0, on Monday.

The Raiders (16-0) will now visit Mt. Hebron on Tuesday for a chance to clinch the county title outright.

Reservoir (15-1), whose only loss is to Atholton, could get a share of the title with an Atholton loss.

On Monday night, Slaytonworked efficient and pounded the strike zone, tossing 52 strikes and only 16 balls for a total of less than 70 pitches for the complete game shut out.

He struck out four, and doubled in the seventh inning, allowing courtesy runner Bryan Gsell to score on an infield groundout RBI by Blake James.

Brady Acker was the offensive star of the game, homering to lead off the third, and also singling.

Michael Dorsch pitched an excellent game for the Mustangs, allowing on four hits and one walk, and striking out five.

Jorge Maldonado tossed six innings of 8-hit, 2-run baseball to give the Eagles the win on senior day, while Connor Clemens earned the save.

The game was tied, 2-2, in the sixth when Centennial scored three times on a Zeke Maldonado pinch hit single, a Jorge Maldonado walk (2-2, RBI), an intentional walk to Daniel Sterenberg (1-3), a Tyler Morris (2B) hit-by-pitch RBI and a Nick Varner two-run single.

Anthony Bowman (3-4, R) and Chris Dornan (2-3) led the Gladiators offense.

Tyler Gormus pitched six innings to earn the win on senior day. Senior Joe Woofford pitched a scoreless seventh, and senior Brett Schaeffer hit a three-run inside the park home run for the Lions. Howard junior Devin Rowell added three hits.
