Route 108 at Howard Co. line to be reduced to single lane for repairs

Route 108 (Ashton Road/Clarksville Pike) will be reduced to a single lane at the Howard-Montgomery county line east of Olney beginning at 8 p.m. Friday for repairs to the bridge of the Patuxent River, according to a State Highway Administration news release.

The release said a flagging operation will remain in place throughout the weekend until the repairs are complete, or no later than 5 a.m. Monday, March 10.

The release said the lane reduction will allow crews to complete repairs to the concrete bridge wall that encloses the area between the roadway and the arch of the bridge.

Repairs were completed to the wall on one side of the bridge the weekend of Jan. 31 and, weather permitting, crews are returning this weekend to complete the repairs on the other side, according to the release.
