Look for them at the Atholton High School softball field behind the school selling Douglas Fir and Fraser Fir trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 15. All proceeds will benefit Atholton athletic teams.

Congratulations to River Hill muscians Alicia Ouyang (flute), Alesis Datta (oboe), Jennifer Lu (clarinet), Roger Mao (clarinet), Shane Mercy (tenor sax), David Flyr (French horn), Chun Mun Loke (French horn), Erica Kocher (French horn) and Sonya Datta (percussion) on being selected among students in grades 10-12 for the Maryland All State Band.
Allyson Luo (clarinet) and David London (bass trombone) were selected for the All State Orchestra.
River Hill High freshman Chun Kit Loke (trombone) was selected for the Junior All State Band composed of students in grades 7-9. Max Xuan, Victoria Huxtable, Michael Qian, Andrew Choi and Megan Radcliffe were selected from Clarksville Middle School. Way to go, kids. Keep practicing. You're doing great.
A winter concert is set for Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at Clarksville Middle School.
Enjoy free Sounds of the Season by RHHS choirs and a capella groups performing "Magic at the MIll" at Savage Mill on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. The groups are excellent.
"A Night of A Capella" at River Hill High is set for Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Ticket sales and any additional donations will go toward the students' Spring Choir Trip to perform at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on the campus of George Mason University. P;lease bring canned goods to the concert for the Howard County Food Bank.

Columbia Pro Cantare Chamber Singers will present a concert of seasonal music from the Renaissance to modern times at Christ Episcopal Church in Columbia. That's not quite in Clarksville, but not too far away.

In recognition of the holiday season, young Clarksville Elementary musicians will be wearing green as they present a band and strings concert on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.
Music is not the primary focus for all students in December. Clarksville MIddle students are preparing for the annual Spelling Bee on Dec. 17. Good luck.
"It All Happened in the Country" is the title of this year's children's Christmas Pageant at Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church. Elementary age children will present the joyous event during the 9 and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Dec. 15.
The adult choir will present a Christmas Cantata on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
Triadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church will have a Christmas worship service on Dec. 21 at 10:45 a.m. Seating is limited. You might want to come for the 9:30 Bible study to get a choice spot.
