Bustling fall days are here with an abundance of pleasant activities to go with the pleasant weather.
Exercise is not a chore when days are not so hot. Will you be joining your neighbors at the River Hill Boosters second annual 5k and Family Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 26?
Onsite registration begins at 9 a.m. The 5k run/walk is at 10 a.m. followed by the 1-mile walk at 10:15 a.m. The kids' 50-yard dash is at 11 a.m. followed by the awards ceremony.
Registration is $30 for adults, $15 for children under 12 and free for children 5 and under. There will be awards for teams, individuals and best costumes, plus one for most sponsors and one for the largest team. Invite all your friends, neighbors, family and co-workers to join your team.
Your chance of getting an award may be greater than you think. Top 5k finisher awards are given by age group, 11 nd under, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. You can do it.

The PTA of Dayton Oaks Elementary is sponsoring a Harvest Moon Festival on Oct. 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It's a free, fun costume event with a DJ, dance contest, food and beverages, crafts, games and other fall activities.

"Choral Postcards from Europe" begins the 37th season for Columbia Pro Cantare at the Jim Rouse Theatre in Columbia on Oct. 26 at 8 p.m.
In addition to the full Pro Cantare Chorus, enjoy the CPC Chamber Singers, the four hands of Alison Gatwood and Erik Apland on piano, harpist Jacqueline Pollauf and the Festival Orchestra along with soloists.
Arrive at the theater early. Barbara Renton will present a free pre-concert lecture at 7 p.m. A post-concert reception will close the evening.

The choir from Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church in Clarksville will perform at Bethany UMC in a benefit concert for the American Cancer Society on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m. Participating choirs include Linden-Linthicum, Bethany, Glen Mar, Mt.
