On Jan. 18, 2014, they produced the long-awaited male child, Jakob Dean Moreland. Everyone in the family is thrilled with the small additions to the family. My thanks to great-grandmother Mae Feldman for sharing this bit of good news.

If you love eating Chesapeake Bay oysters, you'll want to join forces with the Oyster Recovery Partnership to recycle the shells and rejuvenate the oyster population in the Bay.

Drop off your old oyster shells at a bin marked ORP at the far end of Robinson Nature Center's parking lot. The shells will be transported to the Horn Point Laboratory Oyster Hatchery in Cambridge, treated and used to help young oysters grow to maturity.

Oysters are critical in restoring water quality in the Bay. You can help save the bay. To learn more, go to http://www.howardcountymd.gov/RobinsonNatureCenter.htm.

Mark your calendar now and plan to attend the next Country Breakfast sponsored by the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department on Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Ten Oaks Ballroom. Bring the whole clan.
