30-second timeout with Katie Harman, James Madison distance runner

River Hill grad Katie Harman, now a senior distance runner at James Madison University, is preparing to compete at the Stanford Invitational on Friday night. A good performance could potentially qualify her for the NCAA regional meet in May. Katie was a standout during her four years at River Hill, winning multiple Runner of the Year honors between cross country, indoor and outdoor track. She hasn’t slowed down since arriving at James Madison, winning elite honors such as CAA women’s cross country athlete of the year in 2011 and CAA Scholar-Athlete of the year for track and field in 2012.

Katie recently took some time out from her busy schedule to catch up with us about some of her interests off the track.
