Catonsville landscaper dies on the job in Clarksville

A Catonsville landscaper died after falling from a tree in Clarksville Tuesday, Jan. 29, according to Howard County Police.

Police responded to the 8500 block of Reservoir Road shortly after 10 a.m., where they found Michael Joseph Dingle, 40, owner of Natural Way Design and Landscaping, unconscious and not breathing.

According to police, Dingle was in a tree with all the rigging attached. He and his employee successfully removed the top 15-20 feet of the tree, which fell where it was supposed to. Shortly after, however, the remainder of the tree completely uprooted.

Dingle fell approximately 50 feet while still rigged to the tree, police said.

Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and Dingle was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital at 11:11 a.m.
