The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department's Junior Firefighters sponsors a Wacky Tacky youth dance for ages 9 to 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at 6275 Old Washington Road. Food and beverages, which include pizza, corn dogs, pretzels, nachos, candy, water and sodas will be for sale. Meet the author
Brian Boyle will read from, sign and discuss his book, "Iron Heart: The True Story of How I Came Back from the Dead," at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at Howard County Library's Miller branch, 9421 Frederick Road.
