Dance performances Kinetics Dance Theatre will present "The Cracked Nut" at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Howard County Center for the Arts, 8510 High Ridge Road in Ellicott City. The show is about a girl named Clara who faints when she is frightened by a mouse in the dance studio and is transported to a land of wild flowers and misfit toys. "Children On Board" Howard County's annual Preschool/Child Care Information Fair, sponsored by the Office of Children's Services, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Ten Oaks Ballroom, 5000 Signal Bell Lane in Clarksville. The fair will provide parents, guardians, grandparents and child care personnel with information on child care and pre-school programs.
