Awards celebration The Columbia Foundation, which raises, manages and distributes funds to support nonprofits, will recognize county philanthropists at its dinner, "A Celebration of Philanthropy," being held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ten Oaks Ballroom, 5000 Signal Bell Lane in Clarksville. Also, the foundation will present the second annual Philanthropist of the Year award. This year, the foundation recognizes the Doetsch family and Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr LLP. 'Rhapsody in Red' The Columbia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority hosts its annual fundraiser to benefit scholarships and community outreach programs at 8 p.m. at BWI Airport Marriott, 1743 W Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights. The event, Las Vegas Night, will feature blackjack, poker, roulette, craps and a money wheel. There will also be dancing, a three-course dinner and door prizes. Holiday lights The 20th annual Symphony of Lights, a 20-minute drive-through more than 70 larger-than-life holiday light displays, begins Nov. 25 and continues through Jan. 5 at Symphony Woods in Columbia. Admission is $20 per car or van, up to eight passengers; $45 for commercial vans and minibuses seating nine to 24 people; and $125 for buses exceeding 24 passengers.
