Lakefront concert The Rhonda Robinson Ensemble will perform at the Columbia Lakefront as a part of the Lakefront Summer Festival Concert series. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

'Sharks: Who's Attacking Whom?' The program begins at 11 a.m. at the Howard County Library's Glenwood branch, 2350 Route 97 in Cooksville. Explore shark characteristics, adaptations, instincts and conservation with Richard Anderson of the Snyder Foundation for Animals. The program explains how human activity can harm sharks' environment. Participants may have a chance to touch specimens. For ages 8 and older; tickets are required. Information: 410-313-5577.

Batman and Superman Author Marc Tyler Nobleman will reveal his discoveries about two of the most popular superheroes at 7 p.m. at the Miller Branch library, 9421 Frederick Road in Ellicott City. There will be a question-and-answer session and a book-signing afterward.

Bridge walk The Friends of Bridge Columbia and the Oakland Mills Community Association will hold the second annual Route 29 Bridge Walk from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sponsors will update the community on efforts to build a new Bridge Columbia that will carry pedestrians, bicyclists and public transit. The walk begins at 5850 Stevens Forest Road in Oakland Mills. Participants can walk the pathway and over the bridge to develop an understanding of the opportunity to connect downtown Columbia, Oakland Mills and other villages. Future

Food, farms, films and fun The University of Maryland Extension, the Agricultural Marketing Program of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, Howard County Tourism and Promotion, Clark's Elioak Farm and the Business Monthly newspaper are co-sponsoring Howard County's fifth annual Film Feastival from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Clark's Elioak Farm, 10500 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City. The event serves as the kickoff to the county's Farm-2-Table Restaurant Weeks, being held July 25-Aug. 2, and will feature food samples from restaurants and a Farmers' Market. Several new documentaries highlighting the value and importance of local farms and foods, as well as the challenges farmers and suppliers face as they adapt to the changing environment, will be shown.
