Wine tasting and silent auction KidsPeace of Maryland sponsors a wine tasting and silent auction to benefit hundreds of local children in foster care at 6 p.m. at 3321 Corridor Marketplace, 3321 Corridor Marketplace in Laurel. 30 percent of all wine sales will be donated to KidsPeace. Bicycle club Cycle2Health, a noncompetitive, peer-led, bicycling club featuring weekday rides during daytime hours, has its program kickoff event at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the East Columbia 50+ Center, 6600 Cradlerock Way. Event features free bike checks and presentations on bike-related topics. Departure of the first ride of the season follows at 10:30 a.m. Adults of all ages and riding abilities are welcome. Mother's Day The Howard County Conservancy hosts a Mother's Day Special at 10 a.m. at 10520 Old Frederick Road in Woodstock. Visitors can sip tea and sample home baked scones at the historic Brown sisters' farmhouse. Walk through the conservancy's eight gardens and converse with the garden clubs, master gardeners and volunteers who design and maintain them all year. Cost is $5 per person, $10 per family.
