Celebration The 28th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, at Howard Community College's Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia. The reception takes place at 2 p.m., and the program begins at 3 p.m. The celebration is free to the public, but attendees are asked to bring a canned food item to support the Howard County Food Bank. Farmers The Howard County Conservancy presents "Meet Your Local Farmers" from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at 10520 Old Frederick Road in Woodstock. Benefit The Glenelg High School PTSA will host Bingo Bag-A-Palooza on Jan. 24 at the school, 14025 Burntwoods Road. Annual fair The Department of Citizen Services and Office of Children's Services will host its annual preschool/child care information fair, Children On Board, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 26 at Ten Oaks Ballroom, 5000 Signal Bell Lane in Clarksville. Admission is free, but attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Howard County Food Bank. The event will provide parents, guardians, grandparents and child care personnel with information on child care, preschool and summer programs, as well as the opportunity to talk with teachers and program directors.
