The Maryland Art League will hold an exhibit and sale of original paintings and photographs at the Howard County Conservancy, 10520 Old Frederick Road in Woodstock. The Arc of Howard County is seeking nominations for its annual Celebration of Excellence Awards, honoring individuals and groups promoting The Arc's mission of achieving full community life for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Howard County Arts Council presents its 16th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Howard Community College's Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia. The Department of Public Works has announced that residents may drop off mattresses and box springs of all sizes at the Alpha Ridge Landfill in Marriottsville for recycling. Items must be dry, and residents are responsible for unloading their vehicles.
Residents may still schedule mattresses and box springs for bulk trash pickup by calling 410-313-6444; however, they are encouraged to bring these items to the landfill for recycling.
