Art exhibits

•"Snap Decisions," an exhibition featuring the works of the Columbia Photo Artists, Tim Ambrose, Scott Berlin, Bruce Blum, Ann Eid, Joan Forester, Jerry Gettleman, Dennis Gilbert, Michael Oberman, Harriet Rosenberg, Jones Taylor and Jerry Weinstein, will be on view through Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Meeting House Gallery, 5885 Robert Oliver Place in the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center. •"Perspectives," a mixed-media exhibition by Karen Carpenter and Irene Whitaker, will run Sept. 12 through Oct. 19 in the Bill White Room and Lobby Gallery at the Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House, 10400 Cross Fox Lane in Columbia. Stepping out The Long Reach Community Association offers Chicago-style stepping classes for adults from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The class offers fellowship opportunities while exercising to music. Information: 410-730-8113.

Guitar lessons Fred Petrogallo, a retired Harford County Community College instructor, teaches how to read music and tune a guitar at 10 a.m. Mondays at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way. English conversation The Howard County Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, offers Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club, an opportunity to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting, for those who speak English as a second language.
