Exhibit

Slayton House Gallery presents a two-person exhibit through Aug. 31 at 10400 Cross Fox Lane. The exhibit features a group of photographs titled "Faces of Aging," by Marie McGing, that includes landscape photographs of Ireland and Scotland. "Eye Around the World" is an exhibit of oil and mixed media by Molly Safren. Summer programs

The Community Action Council of Howard County, in partnership with Community Homes Housing, is offering free lunches for youths 18 and younger from noon to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday through Aug. 5 at Roslyn Rise Community Center, 10339 Twin Rivers Road, and Rideout Heath-Homework Club Townhouse, 5891 Harpers Farm Road.

CAC is also offering a Teen Educational Employment Program to high school students residing at the Community Homes Housing complexes that will provide environmental and energy-conservation education as well as an activity-based curriculum. In addition to having employment opportunities, participants will be trained to install low-cost energy efficiency and conservation measures. Information: 410-313-6440.

National Night Out

The Wilde Lake Community Association, Howard County police, Columbia Bank, Pizza Boli's and Family Services, co-sponsor a family pizza party for Wilde Lake residents from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2 on the Village Green — rain or shine. The event will feature free pizza, drinks, ice cream, prizes, entertainment and more. Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Information: 410-730-3987.

Stand-up comedy night

The Oakland Mills Community Association seeks vendors for the annual Cultural Arts Festival being held Oct. 15 in the Oakland Mills Village Center. Film festival

Enjoy family outdoor movies under the stars at the 40th-annual Columbia Association Summer Lakefront Film Festival at 10320 Little Patuxent Parkway. The Phoenix Cultural Singles Group, a Columbia social group for those 50 and older, meets from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Sundays at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center, 5885 Robert Oliver Place in the Oakland Mills Village Center.
