National Dance Day
The Columbia Association invites members and residents to celebrate National Dance Day from noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Supreme Sports Club Arena, 7080 Deepage Drive. National Dance Day is a grassroots initiative that promotes health and wellness nationwide. Association Zumba instructors will lead participants through choreographed dances and Zumba dances. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Event is open to those 14 and older. $10 admission fee for non-members, which will be donated to the Coalition for a Healthy Maryland. The Community Action Council of Howard County, in partnership with Community Homes Housing, is offering free lunches for youth 18 and under from noon to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday through Aug. 5 at Roslyn Rise Community Center, 10339 Twin Rivers Road, , and Rideout Heath-Homework Club Townhouse, 5891 Harpers Farm Road.
CAC is also offering a Teen Educational Employment Program to high school students residing at the Community Homes Housing complexes that will provide environmental and energy-conservation education as well as an activity-based curriculum.
