More than 100 people, one of whom was seen getting into a car with a beer bottle, were at the Forest Hill party broken up by police last Friday night, Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Edward Hopkins said Thursday.
Deputies responded at about 11:48 p.m. to the 1700 block of Cannongate Road, where they found vehicles lining both sides of the road, making it hard to pass, Hopkins said.
"As deputies drove down to the end of the court, they observed two males entering a silver 2007 Hyundai passenger car," he said, noting one of them was seen getting into the driver seat holding a beer bottle.
As deputies approached, two people got out of the car and began walking away. They were ordered to stop, but kept walking.
"Due to the large crowd[,] deputies did not pursue the two individuals," Hopkins said. "Deputies observed that there were [more than 100] people in the area. Deputies were able to later identify the subjects that fled the vehicle."
Charges are pending against a 19-year-old man for drug possession, he said.
Deputies entered the home, where they found "numerous" people, all of whom seemed to be between 17 and 19 years old, he said.
"Deputies made contact with the [18-year-old] resident of the home who advised she lived there, that she was home from college and her parents were away in England," Hopkins said. "She advised that she only invited a few friends but the party got out of hand very quickly. Deputies cleared the remainder of the home of all non-residents and the party was closed down."
