The Edgewood, Havre de Grace and Fallston girls soccer teams each scored big wins Wednesday in non-UCBAC division action.
Edgewood's win came at Elkton, 7-0. The Rams led 6-0 at the half.
Edgewood scoring was led by Isabella Barbieri and Abigail Olah, with two goals each. Caitlin Rankin, Alex van Graafeiland and T'mya Lawrence also netted goals.
The Rams assists were credited to Nina Heinlein, Melanie Parncutt, Rankin, van Graafeiland, Angela Wood and Olah.
Edgewood played two goalies with Nasia Denegal making three saves and Allison Bomhardt making five.
Warriors blank Mariners
The Havre de Grace girls soccer team opened its home season Wednesday night in a big way, shutting out Joppatowne, 10-0, at James Harris Stadium.
The Warriors, who led 6-0 at the half, came out of the gate strong with great ball control and passing. Lauren Herrington led the Warriors scoring with five goals and two assists. Addie Richardson added a goal and assist, while other goal scorers were Rachel Rossi, Colleen Riding, Maddi Cypher and Kylee Barber. Megan Grigoleit and Emily Lewis also had assists. Coach Randy Cypher says it was a complete team victory.
Cougars blank Eagles
Fallston's victory came at home, a 9-0 win over winless Aberdeen. Brooke Nigrin led the Cougars with three goals and a pair of assists. Beth Walton, Chase Otenesek, Logan Gasior, Sierrah Taylor, Megan Reilly and Caroline English each had single goals. Alicyn Lose, Walton, Mary Beth Esposito and Taylor had assists.
Huskies beat Eagles
Patterson Mill was also a winner Wednesday, beating visiting Bo Manor, 5-1. The Huskies scored four unanswered goals in the second half, breaking an 1-1 halftime tie.
Haley Davies and Taylor Dick scored two goals each, while Sydney Ditmar tallied a single goal.
Gabby Samra and Morgan Webster had assists and Stephany Ehly collected five saves in goal.
Cobras charm Huskies
On Tuesday's brisk evening, Patterson Mill and host Harford Tech did battle once again. Like past meetings, Tuesday's match was another tight one, won by the Cobras, 1-0.
Scoreless at half, Tech's Shannon Conlon broke through the defense about halfway through the second half and slipped the ball past attacking goalkeeper Stephanie Ehly.
Tech thwarted a late-game massive attack by Patterson Mill and finished with the 1-0 victory. Tech's keeper, Julie Ransone had 11 saves and Ehly finished with eight.
John Carroll lost 2-0 to visiting Spalding Tuesday. John Carroll, which played without five possible starters, trailed 1-0 at the half.
Goalie Katie Cooper made four saves and Nickie Stefanik came on to make one.
