A man was flown to a shock trauma center Saturday morning after falling from a roof in Forest Hill.
Carlos Vargas, 36, a contractor with Citywide Home Improvements in Parkville, was working on a home addition in the 2000 block of Bay Meadows Court when he fell approximately 18 feet off the roof, Capt. Keith Warner, with the Harford County Sheriff's Office Northern Precinct, said Tuesday.
Vargas, who lives in the 5900 block of Montgomery Street in Baltimore, was flown out from the Forest Lakes Elementary School property to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore shortly after 11 a.m. He was treated and released the same day.
"At the time of transport he was conscious, breathing and had two fractured hands," Warner said. It is believed Vargas hit the patio when falling, though no one saw him fall.
Vargas was wearing a harness, but police aren't sure if it was tied off.
