State Police in Harford assist in Baltimore Co. assault case

Maryland State Police provided assistance Saturday night to Baltimore County Police Department officers who were searching for a vehicle involved in a case of an assault of a woman.

The woman was assaulted and then dragged by the suspect's vehicle. The Harford Fire Blog reported the incident around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on its Facebook page, citing a report from the State Police.

Cpl. Dudek, duty officer at the State Police's Bel Air Barrack Saturday, said troopers responded to the intersection of Route 40 (Pulaski Highway) and Route 152 (Mountain Road) in Edgewood and spoke with the victim and witnesses.

He said a witness who spotted the suspect vehicle at the intersection contacted police, and state troopers responded.

The vehicle has not yet been located.

"Information was relayed to Baltimore County officers for further investigation," Dudek said. "At this point the case is ongoing and will continue to be investigated by Baltimore County [police]."

He said the woman was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment.

Baltimore County Police could not immediately provide information on the case Saturday night.
