No one was injured early Saturday afternoon when an ultralight plane hit power lines then crashed onto Belair Road in Fallston.

A man was operating his ultralight and tried to take off from the 3100 block of Belair Road near Bel Air Golf, according to Sgt. Cummins of the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack.

The operator didn't get enough elevation and his ultralight hit power lines in the area; the ultralight crashed on Belair Road, where it hit a Hyundai Sonata, Cummins said.

Neither the operator of the ultralight nor the driver and two passengers in the car were injured, he said.

The ultralight was disabled, he said, and the right lane of southbound Route 1 was shut down briefly.

BGE and the NTSB were notified of the crash, Cummins said.
