Four men were shot at by unknown assailants in Joppa on Monday while returning from a party, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
At about 11:22 p.m. in the 200 block of Garnett Road, the men told police they had been at a party on Kershaw Road, after which they left and began walking toward a convenience store on Joppa Farm Road.
They reported being followed by a group of three males who said they wanted to fight.
"An exchange of words occurred," but no assault, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler said.
The men, ages 19 to 34, continued toward the store, where they had parked their car, when they heard multiple gunshots being fired from behind, Kahler said.
The call for service said 10 shots had been fired.
The group began running up Garnett Road to avoid being hit, she said.
They did not see where the shots came from and could not give a suspect description.
No one was injured in the incident and police are investigating.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
