A Pennsylvania man was killed in a single-car crash early Friday morning on Route 40 in Joppa, Maryland State Police said, the second fatal accident in Harford County in two days.
Jason D. Ham, 31, of Delta, Pa., was driving east on Route 40 west of Joppa Road at about 1:30 a.m. when his 2000 Nissan Frontier went off the road for unknown reasons and ended up in a ditch, according to a Maryland State Police news release.
The car then struck an embankment, becoming slightly airborne and striking a BGE pole on the passenger side, according to the release.
The force of the impact caused the car to spin clockwise across Joppa Road, striking a curb and another BGE light support pole, State Police said.
Mr. Ham was pronounced dead at 1:57 a.m. by paramedics.
A 19-year-old Churchville woman was killed Thursday morning in her neighborhood when a truck collided with her vehicle as she pulled into Route 136 from a side street.
