Tough Thursday for Fallston girls volleyball

The Fallston Cougars girls volleyball team took a break from the UCBAC schedule Thursday to host a tough club from St. Mark's of Delaware. St. Mark's took care of the Cougars in straight sets. The winning scores were 25-8, 25-14 and 25-17.

Fallston coach Michael Turlik says the Cougars made the Spartans fight for every kill, with Anna Holehouse putting up 26 digs. Phoenix Offutt led at the net with five kills and three blocks, while Brittany Callahan put up three blocks. Emily Mozal had 14 assists.

The Cougars are 6-3.

Other score

Bel Air (5-1 league, 7-1 overall) defeated host C. Milton Wright (2-4, 2-6), 3-1, Thursday in UCBAC Chesapeake (upper) Division play. The scores were 25-19, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-16.

Monday's washout

Because of the dangerous weather predicted for Harford County on Monday, all five girls volleyball matches on the schedule were postponed.
