Evaluation ordered for Fallston man accused of attacking wife twice

An emergency evaluation was ordered in Harford County District Court last week for Fallston man charged with assaulting his wife twice in a five-day period.

Terry L. Neifeld, 65, of the 1300 block of Watervale Road, is charged with two counts of second-degree assault for allegedly attacking his wife on Jan. 15, according to charging documents. He also allegedly attacked his wife five days prior, prompting her to request a protection order against him, charging documents say.

During a bail hearing Thursday, Harford District Court Judge Victor K. Butanis decided to waive Neifeld's bail, initially set at $50,000, after his wife pleaded that the judge approve an emergency evaluation for her husband.

The wife of 15 years also asked the court to lift a protective order so she could pursue guardianship over her husband.
