Boys regional lacrosse playoffs got underway Wednesday with North Harford and Edgewood each collecting opening round victories in Class 2A-3A North first round action and Patterson Mill winning in 1A-2A South.
North Harford's win came over visiting Aberdeen, 12-4.
Jacob Linkous scored four goals to lead the Hawks (7-8), while Clayton Hood netted three goals and Ryan Feiss scored two. Chandler Schmidt, Mike Boyko and Kyle Keating had single goals.
Evan Siegel dished out three assists and single assists were credited to Schmidt, Mic Green, Feiss and Keating.
Siegel had a team-best five ground balls and Steven Geodeke had three.
The Hawks played two goalies, with Cameron Brosh making three saves and Anthony Phelps making one.
Siegel won eight of 11 faceoffs and Geodeke won three of six.
Rams thump Owls
Edgewood's win came at Dundalk, 18-6.
Senior Joe Ludwig scored five goals for the Rams (4-9). Ryan Stiemly, Shawn Kluchinsky (two assists) and Caruso Nicholson (two assists) each scored three goals and Donavin Tilley added two goals and two assists.
Zach Schwartz and Dillan Cupp added a single goal each.
Edgewood will play at North Harford on Friday at time to be determined.
Mustangs knocked out
Also in 2A-3A North, CMW (5-8) lost to visiting Rising Sun, 3-2, in overtime.
Patterson Mill (8-7) was a 13-8 winner over visiting Joppatowne (4-6). Stats were not provided for either team.
The Huskies will play at Fallston on Friday at a time to be determined.
Also Friday, Havre de Grace will play at Harford Tech at 6 p.m.
