Aberdeen loses key boys lacrosse division game on rainy afternoon

The Aberdeen boys lacrosse team's hopes of winning an UCBAC division title were lost on a storm-filled afternoon Wednesday in Aberdeen.

The Eagles lost to North East, 8-1, in a Susquehanna (lower) Division battle of unbeatens. The game featured two weather delays and was called off at the end of the third quarter.

"It was pretty much a swim meet," Eagles head coach Hinson White. "Based on the score, I'm not sure all my boys knew how to swim."

Jon Jones had Aberdeen's lone goal, unassisted. The Eagles are 5-1 in league and 5-5 overall.

Bobcats beat Tigers

In the only game shown on the boys lacrosse schedule Tuesday, Bel Air stayed perfect in UCBAC Chesapeake (upper) Division play, beating visiting Rising Sun, 14-4. The Bobcats (5-0 league, 10-2 overall) led 8-0 at the half.

Tom Pfeiffer scored four goals to highlight the win, while Calvin Fleagle (two assists) and Jason Dinsmore both scored three goals. Brad Casale, Caleb Rollins, Will Oktavek and Justin Calabrese each scored single goals.

Pfeiffer, Tyler Utz, Joe Creaghan, Austin Tredinnick, Anthony Sampayo and Rollins each had assists.

Bel Air played three goalies with Gavin Hanley making three saves and Tamar Reese and Hanson Egerland each made two.
