Shad Roe looking for a return to glory after a down stretch

After a three-week stretch where I picked all but three of 28 games correctly, I was brought back down to earth recently, posting only an 8-6 record in my last attempt, which encompassed two weeks worth of selections. I can't really explain what happened, besides there being some upsets, like Perryville losing its first two UCBAC games in over two years and North Harford being dropped by Patterson Mill, but, rest assured, I don't think a just-above-.500 record is acceptable. Perfection is what I seek and this round of picks is going to get the pigskin prognosticator back to perfection, hopefully. Here's what we have coming up tonight (Friday):

Aberdeen at Havre de Grace. Havre de Grace came up big last week, handing Perryville its second straight loss, while Aberdeen also notched a big win by defeating Bel Air. Who's going to win the big game tonight? I'm going with the Eagles. The pick: Aberdeen wins, 37-24.

Fallston at Perryville. The Panthers' 25-game UCBAC win streak was snapped two weeks ago with C. Milton Wright, and then Perryville suffered an upset defeat at the hands of Havre de Grace on Oct. 17. I think you can go ahead and pencil in a third loss for the Panthers this week, because the mighty Fallston offense, which pummeled CMW, 55-20, in week seven, is not going to give an inch. The pick: Fallston wins, 35-14.

Patterson Mill at Bel Air. The pick: Bel Air wins, 28-21.

North Harford at C. Milton Wright. The pick: North Harford wins, 35-21.

Joppatowne at North East. The pick: Joppatowne wins, 21-17.

Harford Tech at Edgewood. The pick: Edgewood wins, 28-13.

Last week's record: 8-5

Shad's all-time record: 1,839-693, 72.7 percent.
