Citing local and state laws prohibiting their sale, possession or use, detectives from the Bel Air Police Department Criminal Investigation Division seized 20 stun guns Friday afternoon from Guys Hunting, a kiosk in the Harford Mall.

The kiosk was being operated by Estate Brokers of Maryland on Washington Street in Havre de Grace, the Bel Air Police Department said in a news release. The seizure occurred around 1:30 p.m.

According to the police department, "Harford County Code 260-3 prohibits the sale, lending, possession or use of a stun gun or Taser."

Violation of this code is punishable by a fine of up to $500 or up to 60 days incarceration, BAPD Det. Sgt. Jim Lockard said in the release.

The violation of Maryland law for possession or use of a stun gun or Taser can be found in Maryland Criminal Code 4-109(b), the department said.

Lockard said police went to the mall after receiving a tip about the stun guns.

No arrests were made.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against the owner of the kiosk, Lockard said.
