Changes in Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League

Highlights from Tuesday's play in the Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League saw the winless 'Murica team post its first win and the Recyclables suffer its first loss.

The Recyclables loss opened play, as Dark Knights broke open a close game at half (3-2 lead) en route to a 10-5 win.

Dark Knights (2-1) were led by Melissa Warczynski and Katie Fonte, who scored three goals each, while Megan Gernand, Meghan Najewicz, Gina Reid and Katie Wherley had single goals in the win. Reid, Aloise Diedrich and Brooke Prater added assists.

Ashley Pietra scored twice to pace Recyclables (2-1), while Sara Chesla, Alexis Susa and Sabrina Spence each scored one goal.

Knights goalie Roxanne Diedrich made five saves and Recyclables keeper Grace Deckert had 13 saves.

In 'Murica's (1-2) first win, Marisa Braungart scored three times and Kim Eraso added two goals and one assist in an 11-4 win over Little Miss Moonshine. Others goals were scored by Jessica Tenly, Julie Doyle, Stephanie Cornbrooks, Lexi Brown, Mallory Boyd and Chelsea Wathne.

Patricia Strother scored twice to pace Moonshine (1-2) and Cari Biscoe added a goal and assist. Kathleen Carr had the other goal.

Brittany MacKnew made six saves in the winning goal. Two players saw action in the Moonshine goal - Kaitlyn Neumeister made three saves in the first half and Jordan Wagner made 10 saves in the final half.
