Bel Air-area woman airlifted after fall Saturday

An 80-year-old woman was flown to a regional trauma center Saturday night after being injured from a fall down the stairs, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Bryan Oleszczuk, duty officer for the Northern Precinct, said the woman, who lives in the 1300 block of Thomas Run Road in Bel Air, was flown "because of her age and her injuries."

The helicopter's landing zone was at the nearby Harford Technical High School campus off Thomas Run Road, according to the Harford Fire Blog's Facebook page.
