Bel Air man charged with drunk driving, crashing into home

A Bel Air man was accused of drunk driving after he allegedly crashed his pick-up truck into a house about two miles from his home Sunday.

Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 2200 block of Kempton Park Circle at about 5:50 p.m., spokesman Edward Hopkins said.

A silver, light-duty pick-up truck ran off the road and hit the home, damaging the chimney, bushes and shrubs, Hopkins said.

Deputies found a truck matching the description on Bright Oaks Drive, with an occupant passed out behind the wheel; the truck had heavy front-end damage, Hopkins said.

The man was identified as Jon A. Stefanides, 22, of the 500 block of Country Walk Court in Bel Air, Hopkins said.

He was charged with resisting arrest, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, disorderly conduct and charges related to the hit-and-run.

No one was injured in the incident.
