Recent C. Milton Wright High School graduate Kerry Treusdell is headed to Penn State University in August, where she will begin her college career as one of 12 new female swimmers for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State head swim coach John Hargis announced the new swimmers last month and had this to say about Treusdell: "Kerry trains at the North Baltimore Aquatic Center and has the ability to be a very good distance swimmer for us in the future. She is just now coming into her own as a swimmer and has been adapting to some new training, so I think her upside is immeasurable. To get her on campus and into a consistent training program day in and day out is going to be big for her and our program."

Treusdell, who has swum for and at the North Baltimore Aquatic Center the past six years, was a All-Harford performer at CMW her freshman and sophomore years. Because of competing practice schedules, Treusdell stopped competing for the Mustangs after that sophomore season to focus only on swimming at NBAC.

Treusdell owns the CMW school record in 100 backstroke and is a super sectional swimmer in eight events, including five freestyle strokes, 100 and 200 backstroke and 400 IM.

Her club coach is Erik Posegay.

On choosing Penn State to continue her swimming and schooling, Treusdell said, "I chose Penn State because it offered me the opportunity to swim at a nationally recognized university while receiving an excellent education. The coaches and my future teammates were great during my visit and they made me feel like a part of the team the first time I met them."
