Joppatowne's Dale Marx won twice on the evening, taking first in the boys 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. Josh Spleidt earned the Mariners a first-place finish in the boys 100-yard breaststroke.
In Friday's Icicle Invitational Relay Meet at Edgewood Middle School, the C. Milton Wright Mustangs earned the highest finish of any local team, taking second place with 254 combined points, just nine behind overall winner Mt. De Sales.
North Harford took third place with 207 points, Havre de Grace grabbed fifth with 148, Harford Tech finished seventh with 130 points and Bel Air earned eighth with 117 points. Edgewood finished 11tyh with 80 points and Joppatowne took 11th place with 65 points. Finishing last was John Carroll with 56 points.
The CMW girls team of Jamie Hruz, Maggie Gallagher, Megan Cowan and Erica Slotnick won the 200-yard medley relay, while the Mustang squad of Bernie Chang, Andrew Youn, Matthew Treusdell and Ryan Pellegrino took first in the boys 200-yard backstroke relay.
Harford Tech's Alyssa Carestia, Justin Carestia, Taylor Casalena and Gracen Clem teamed up to win the mixed 200-yard medley relay.
Chang, Hruz, Cowan and Kyle Paxton raced to a first-place showing in the mixed 400-meter medley relay.
In the boys 200-yard breaststroke relay, the CMW team of Treusdell, Paxton, Colin Hildebeidel and Ryan Brown took top honors.
Gallagher, Haley Paxton, Anne Capozzoli and Natalie Corson won the girls 200-yard breaststroke relay for CMW, while Cowan, Hruz, Slotnick and Ida Erdhardt teamed up to earn the Mustangs a first-place finish in the girls 200-yard butterfly relay.
The 400-yard medley relay events saw a clean sweep by CMW, with Chang, Paxton, Pellegrino and Youn taking the boys race, while Courtney Gangl, Gallagher, Cowan and Slotnick won the girls event.
