CMW, Tech race to Monday swimming victories

The C. Milton Wright Mustangs earned a tri-meet victory on Monday night, swimming to combined wins over North Harford and Patterson Mill at Magnolia Middle School.

CMW topped Patterson Mill, 139-49, and beat North Harford, 124-63.

North Harford won its matchup with Patterson Mill, 108-80.

CMW's Julia O'Mara won both the girls 200-yard medley and 500-yard freestyle races, while teammate Megan Cowan raced to firsts in the girls 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle races.

Kyle Paxton won the boys 200-yard medley for CMW, while teammate Jamie Hruz raced to first in the girls 100-yard butterfly.

CMW's Ryan Pellegrino grabbed first in the boys 100-yard backstroke, while Lauren O'Mara registered a victory for the Mustangs in the girls 100-yard breaststroke.

North Harford's Gabe Lackey was the lone swimmer in the boys events to take a pair of individual victories, as he won both the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle. Robbie Beichler won the boys 100-yard butterfly for North Harford, while Randy Foster helped the Hawks with a win in the boys 100-yard freestyle. North Harford's Zoey Friedel won the girls 100-yard freestyle, and teammate Becky Jump won the 100-yard backstroke.

Patterson Mill's Patrick Ward took first in the boys 50-yar freestyle, while teammate Jordan Johnson won the boys 100-yard breaststroke.

Tech over Joppa

The Harford Tech Cobras stormed to a combined 207-111 victory over the Joppatowne swim team at North Harford Middle Monday night.

Harford Tech's Justin Carestia won the boys 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.

The Cobras girls squad was led by Megan Culbertson, who won the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, and Taylor Casalena, who took top honors in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events.

Tim Seitzinger won the boys 200-yard medley for Harford Tech, while Alissa Carestia took first in the girls 200-yard medley.

Gracen Clem notched a win for the Cobras boys in the 50-yard freestyle, and Harford Tech's Katie Culbertson won the girls 50-yard freestyle.

Harford Tech swept the 10-yard butterfly events, with Jake Zeigler winning the boys race, and Megan Doleschal winning the girls race.

Travis Girvin earned a top finish in the boys 100-yard freestyle, and fellow Cobra Emily Doleschal won the girls 100-yard backstroke.

Joppatowne's Dale Marx won the boys 200-yard freestyle, while teammate Tyler DiBastiani won the boys 100-yard backstroke.

Bel Air wins

The Bel Air swim squad won its Thursday night tri-meet, racing to combined wins over the Aberdeen and Edgewood teams.

The Bobcats topped Aberdeen, 130-52, and Edgewood, 119-69.

Edgewood won its matchup with Aberdeen, 109-73.

Bel Air's Macey Nitchie won the girls 200-yard medley and 100-yard breaststroke races, while teammate Briana Karayinopulous won both the girls 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.

Bel Air's Mike Koscinski won the boys 100-yard freestyle, and also notched a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. Ben Barsam helped out the winning cause with a pair of first-place showings, taking top honors in the boys 200-yard medley and 100-yard breaststroke.

James Cousler took the boys 200-yard freestyle for Bel Air. Tim Boswell won the boys 50-yard freestyle, while fellow Bobcat Briana Karayinopulous took top honors in the girls 50-yard freestyle.

Edgewood swimmers swept the 500-yard freestyle, with Sam Verk taking first in the boys event, while Sydnee Holquist won the girls race.

Aberdeen's Allie Haag finished first in the girls 200-yard freestyle, and the Eagles' Alec Steiger placed first in the boys 100-yard butterfly. Lauren Drumm took first in the girls 100-yard butterfly for Aberdeen.

CMW over Hawks, Cougars

The C. Milton Wright team earned its first victory of the season last Wednesday, beating North Harford, 123-65 and Fallston, 136-51.

North Harford topped Fallston, 101-84.

Jillian Carter started the meet by winning the girls 200-yard freestyle for CMW, and Lauren O'Mara followed with a victory in the girls 200-yard medley.

Megan Cowan took first in the girls 100-yard butterfly to help the winning cause, and teammate Andrew Youn raced to a top finish in the boys 100-yard freestyle.

O'mara took her second victory of the evening in the girls 100-yard freestyle, and Bernie Chang notched a victory for CMW in the boys 500-yard freestyle.

Cowan won another individual race, taking top honors in the girls 100-yard backstroke, while Julia O'Mara grabbed first in the girls 100-yard breaststroke. CMW's Colin Hildebeidel won the boys 100-yard breaststroke.

Patterson Mill edges HdG

Swimming at North Harford Middle School last Wednesday night, the Patterson Mill Huskies came through with a three-point victory, 169-166, over Havre de Grace.

Havre de Grace won the boys competition, 90-75, but Patterson Mill made up ground in the girls events, beating the Warriors, 94-76.

Patterson Mill's Jordan Johnson took first place in the boys 200-yard medley and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Lexi Karalekas won the girls 200-yard medley for Patterson Mill, and Bailey Senior earned the Husky girls a top-finish in the 50-yard freestyle.

Patterson Mill's Krysten Leland won the girls 100-yard freestyle, while teammate Ayana Phillips won the girls 100-yard breaststroke.

George Roros took first place in the boys 500-yard freestyle for Patterson Mill.

Havre de Grace's Paul Butz won two races, taking first in the boys 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, while teammate Hunter Infeld won the boys 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.

The Warriors girls were led by Alyssa Smith, who won both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle, and Allissa Lyons, who notched victories in the 100-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle.

Ryan Burkhardt took first in the 200-yard freestyle for the Warrior boys.
