North Harford defeats Tech, Joppatowne at Thursday swim meet

The North Harford swim team won a tri-meet in its own backyard Thursday night, knocking off Harford Tech, 94-84, and Joppatowne, 122-54, at North Harford Middle School.

Harford Tech won its matchup with Joppatowne, 113-61.

North Harford's Hillary Young brought home two individual victories, swimming to wins in the girls 200-yard medley and 100-yard butterfly.

Robby Beichler also scored a pair of first-place finishes for the Hawks, taking top honors in the boys 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.

Kevin Snee won the boys 200-yard medley for North Harford, and teammate Luke Johnson took first in the boys 50-yard freestyle. The Hawks' Becky Jump won the girls 100-yard backstroke.

Harford Tech's Taylor Casalena brought her team two top finishes, winning the girls 50-yard and 500-yard freestyle races.

Justin Carestia took first in the boys 100-yard breaststroke for Harford Tech, and Megan Culbertson followed with a victory in the girls 100-yard breaststroke. Harford Tech's Katie Culbertson won the girls 200-yard freestyle.

Joppatowne's Tyler DiBastiani won twice, beating the field in both the boys 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.

Maya Carter completed Joppatowne's sweep of the 100-yard freestyle races by winning the girls event.

Dale Marx earned an individual win for the Joppatowne squad, topping all comers in the boys 500-yard freestyle.
