North Harford storms to swim wins over Joppatowne, Tech

The North Harford Hawks earned a pair of swimming victories at Edgewood Middle School Wednesday night, beating the Joppatowne Mariners, 136-50, and Harford Tech Cobras, 114-74.

Harford Tech won its matchup with Joppatowne, 119-67.

North Harford's Robby Beichler won both the boys 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard medley events, while teammate Gabe Lackey took top honors in the event's two longest freestyle races, the 200-yard and 500-yard.

The Hawks' Randy Foster took a pair of victories, winning the boys 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.

The North Harford girls squad saw sophomore Becky Jump race to a pair of wins, beating the field in the 200-yard medley and 100-yard backstroke.

Haley Jacobs won the girls 50-yard freestyle for North Harford, while teammate Zoey Friedel placed first in the girls 100-yard freestyle. The Hawks' Maria Auth beat all comers in the girls 100-yard butterfly.

Harford Tech's Taylor Casalena earned two top finishes, winning the girls 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. The Cobras' Megan Culbertson raced to a first-place showing in the girls 100-yard breaststroke.

Joppatowne got individual victories from Dale Marx, who won the boys 50-yard freestyle, and Josh Spleidt, who took top honors in the boys 100-yard breaststroke.
