Women's lacrosse league adjusts to heat, lack of subs

The Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League continued to play Tuesday, but because of the heat and lack of substitutions, game were shortened.

That didn't phase league leading Recyclables (6-1), who rolled past Dark Knights (3-3-1), 11-5.

Susie Snee scored four goals to pace the winners, while Paige Orpin and Sabrina Spence each scored two goals. Sara Chesla had a goal and an assist and single goals were also scored by Alexis Susa and Lisa Labre.

Katie Wherley and Melissa Warczynski led Dark Knights with two goals each and Makenzie Aponte added a single goal.

Grace Deckert earned the win with eight saves for Recyclables and Roxanne Diedrich recorded 10 for Dark Knights.

In game two, 'Murica (2-4-1) knocked off Little Miss Moonshine (2-5), 13-6.

Kaylee Litke's three goals led 'Murica, while Kim Eraso, Chelsea Wathne and Jessica Tenly scored two goals each. Single goals were scored by Stephanie Cornbrooks, Fran Paradise, Amanda Tremblay and Lexi Brown. Wathne and Eraso also had assists.

Patricia Strother and Kathleen Plumb led Moonshine with two goals apiece. Alora Gullivan added a goal and an assist and Kara Cornelius also scored. Lauren Dooley had an assist.

'Murica goalie Emily Deaver made 10 saves and Kaitlyn Neumeister made four for Moonshine.
