Cook battled back with a pair of wins to stay alive, before losing 8-5 to Adam Fitzwater of Brunswick in the consolation semifinal.

Cook was then awarded fifth place over Kevin Snyder of Century by default.

Hubler is sixth

Aberdeen senior Travis Hubler won two bouts to reach the 3A-4A, 126 semifinals.

Hubler (32-5) led early in the semi, 2-0, but Tanner Saluter of Thomas Stone quickly tied the match with a reversal and then added three back points in the final seconds of the first period for a 5-2 lead.

Hubler added a reversal and escape in the second period, but Slater reversed back and added an escape and takedown in the final period to end the scoring.

Hubler then dropped both remaining consolation matches to finish sixth.

Coburn is sixth

Fallston senior Garrett Coburn was sixth at 145 in 1A-2A action. Coburn (34-10) opened with a win, but lost his quarterfinal, 10-4, to Josh Loveless of Oakdale.

Coburn added a pair of wins before another loss put him in the fifth place match. Another loss to Loveless, this time by first period pin, ended Coburn's day.

Doring finishes sixth

Perryville senior David Doring also placed sixth at 170 in 1A-2A. Doring (32-14) opened with a win and then lost his quarterfinal.

Doring then won two bouts, before losing two straight to place sixth.

Fallston's Austin out

Fallston's CJ Austin was unable to compete in Saturday's championships because a shoulder injury, according to his coach Andy Amasia.

Austin, the conference and 1A-2A East Region champion at 152 pounds was undefeated on the season. The injury was discovered following last weekend's region championship meet, according to Amasia.
