Bel Air area gas station robbed at gunpoint by masked man

A gas station in the Bel Air South area was robbed early Friday morning by a man wearing a mask and carrying a gun, police said.

Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the Shell gas station in the 1900 block of Emmorton Road around 1:40 a.m. Friday for a report of a robbery.

The store clerk said the robber entered the building through the left side door, pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded money from the register, according to Cristie Kahler, spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office. After the clerk complied, the robber ran out of the store and to the back of the building.

Other deputies responded and searched the area, but could not find the man.

The robber was wearing a silver jacket and a mask that covered his face, Kahler said.

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
