Downtown Bel Air will again be the place to be seen and heard in purple this Friday.
After one successful Ravens rally before Saturday's thrilling double overtime win over the Broncos in Denver in the AFC divisional round of the playoffs, the Bel Air Downtown Alliance is planning another "pre-game" event for Friday to get Harford County fired up for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Patriots.
"We're going to do this one at Armory Park, which is where we intended to have the first one, if it wasn't for the weather," Bel Air Downtown Alliance director Scott Walker said Monday.
Other than the change in venue, the rally will bring back most of the features that have made these outings popular in one of the epicenters of Ravens fandom.
"The Road to New Orleans is Coming Through Downtown Bel Air," the Downtown Alliance proclaims once more on its Facebook page, promising a "fun-filled and family friendly afternoon of cheering our Baltimore Ravens onto VICTORY over the New England Patriots."
This Friday's rally will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will again feature Tyler Daniel from WXCY 103.7 FM as master of ceremonies.
The Bus Boys will again bring their Fan Bus, and Natty Boh Gear will make an appearance to offer giveaways to the best-dressed fans.
"Be with us again with plenty of swag and giveaways for our BEST DRESSED FANS," the Downtown Alliance posted Monday. "We are working on a few more items, so stay tuned!"
Armory Park is next to the Bel Air Reckord Armory at 41 N. Main St. No alternate site has been announced, but the long range National Weather Service forecast for Friday in Bel Air is for sunny skies with temperatures in the low 40s.
Walker said the Downtown Alliance will keep sponsoring Ravens rallies until "hopefully the Super Bowl."
With exuberant fans out in full force in Bel Air, this very well could be the year!Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
